We’re an innovative indie game development studio crafting groundbreaking VR adventure games. Our project blends narrative-driven gameplay with combat, platforming, and mind-bending puzzles. We aim to immerse players in a visually stunning world filled with compelling challenges and a gripping and immersive story that pushes the boundaries of VR.

Role Overview.

We are seeking a talented and highly skilled Technical Animator with expertise in Unreal Engine’s animation systems. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and implementing sophisticated animation systems, including dynamic blending, motion matching, and physics-based animations. You’ll also play a key part in optimising animation pipelines and working with advanced systems like MetaHumans.

Responsibilities :

  • Design and implement layered and dynamic animation blending systems in Unreal Engine.
  • Develop motion-matching and physics-based animation solutions for realistic and fluid character movement.
  • Collaborate with the animation, design, and programming teams to integrate animations seamlessly into gameplay.
  • Optimise animation pipelines to ensure efficiency and performance in a VR environment.
  • Work with MetaHumans and other tools to bring lifelike characters to the VR experience.
  • Troubleshoot animation issues and refine systems to meet the highest quality standards.

Qualifications :

  • Ideally 3+ years of experience as a Technical Animator or similar role in game development.
  • Exceptional knowledge of Unreal Engine animation systems, including Blueprint and C++ integration.
  • Expertise in animation blending, motion matching, and physics-based animation techniques.
  • Strong understanding of animation pipelines and optimisation for Mobile or VR.
  • Experience working with MetaHumans or similar advanced character systems.
  • A strong problem-solving mindset with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with facial animation systems and lip-syncing for characters.
  • Knowledge of rigging and skinning tools for animation.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback.

BONUS POINTS :

  • Familiarity with AI-driven animation behaviors and procedural animation systems.
  • Background in animation with complementary animation skillset.
  • Proven experience writing and managing briefs for contractors and internal teams.
