We’re an innovative indie game development studio crafting groundbreaking VR adventure games. Our project blends narrative-driven gameplay with combat, platforming, and mind-bending puzzles. We aim to immerse players in a visually stunning world filled with compelling challenges and a gripping and immersive story that pushes the boundaries of VR.

Role Overview.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly creative Lead 3D Artist to lead the artistic vision of our project. You’ll be responsible for managing and guiding both an internal art team and external contractors, ensuring a cohesive and compelling art style. Occasionally, you’ll also roll up your sleeves to contribute directly to 3D art asset creation.

Responsibilities :

  • Define and iterate the general art pipelines and oversee the visual style and artistic vision of the game.
  • Write detailed briefs for contractors and provide clear feedback to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Direct and support the internal art team to maintain high visual standards that are within budget.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure art assets integrate seamlessly into Unreal Engine.
  • Occasionally create or refine 3D art assets to meet project needs.
  • Manage art pipelines and workflows, ensuring efficient production and delivery.
  • Stay informed on trends and advancements in VR and game art pipelines, particularly for mobile and VR platforms.

Qualifications :

  • Ideally 4+ years of experience in game art, including leadership or art direction roles.
  • Strong proficiency with Unreal Engine and art pipelines.
  • Proven experience writing and managing art briefs for contractors and internal teams.
  • Hands-on experience with 3D art creation tools such as Maya, Blender, ZBrush.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with a passion for delivering polished work.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback.
  • A portfolio showcasing visually stunning, cohesive art direction and asset production.

BONUS POINTS :

  • Experience with mobile or VR game art pipelines.
  • Background in material and shader creation, lighting, or optimisation for VR.
  • A love for adventure games with narrative depth and emotional resonance.
  • Someone who regularly plays in VR and enjoys the technology.
